Project #793PR104-15 involves replacement and rehabilitation of sewer mains on Elting Avenue, Lincoln Place, Lookout Avenue, Center Street, Bonticou View Drive, Fairview Avenue, Ridge Road and Mohonk Avenue. The project award of $599,150 including field construction inspection and administrative costs. Sewer replacement and rehabilitation improvements will be constructed during 2016. The Village is seeking administrative services to establish and maintain project files, coordinate as necessary with the Village’s consulting engineer and Office of Community Renewal, assist with the bidding process, maintain labor standards records, ensure compliance with fair housing, Section 3 and equal opportunity requirements, prepare payment requests, prepare required labor, section 3, contracting, Semi-Annual and Annual reports, ensure compliance with citizen participation requirements and prepare closeout documents.   1. Parking or standing prohibited. [Amended 1-24-2001 by L.L. No. 2-2001]

(1)   Emergency conditions. The parking or standing of vehicles is hereby prohibited at all locations on highways within the Village of New Paltz in the vicinity of floods, fires or other public emergencies where the parking or standing of vehicles constitutes an obstruction to traffic or to emergency or rescue operations.

(2)   Snowfall conditions.

(a)  The parking or standing of vehicles is hereby prohibited on all streets within the Village of New Paltz and on all parking lots owned, leased or maintained by the Village during any snowfall from the time the accumulation of snow reaches a level of at least two inches until the street or parking lot has been fully plowed by the Department of Public Works. [Amended 12-7-2005 by L.L. No. 10-2005; 1-2-2008 by L.L. No. 1-2008]  

(b)  It is the responsibility of the owner or operator of any vehicle parked on a Village street or in a parking lot owned, leased or maintained by the Village to be aware of the forecast of weather conditions which may result in an accumulation of greater than two inches of snow.

(c)   The Superintendent of Public Works is hereby authorized to post temporary signs at     locations along highways and parking lots throughout the Village prohibiting the parking or standing of vehicles for a designated period of time to facilitate snow removal operations.

The Village of New Paltz in conjunction with the Ulster County Health Department are advising that the municipal water supply is once again, meeting and exceeding the standards set forth in the sanitary codes of New York State.

Therefore, the boil water notice is lifted and consumers of the Village of New Paltz may again consume/ drink the water.

Additionally the Village Board extends their gratitude to all consumers inconvenienced during this event.

The Village of New Paltz will begin their annual leaf pickup throughout the Village on November 2, 2015 for a two-week period.  We will start the pick up on the north side on November 2, 2015 to November 6, 2015.  We will start on the south side on November 9, 2015 to November 13, 2015.

 

If bagging leaves, only biodegradable bags will be accepted.

Village of New Paltz Public Water Supply

As a result of a water main break on Huguenot Street. Water for human consumption must be boiled for a minimum of three minutes to ensure it is safe to drink until further notice.

The affected areas of Huguenot Street are from Main Street to North Front Street.

The Village of New Paltz Department of Public Works is working diligently to restore safe drinking water. As soon as satisfactory samples are collected, a lifted boil water notice will be handed out to those businesses/residents affected.

Village of New Paltz Public Water Supply

The Village of New Paltz in conjunction with the Ulster County Health Department are advising that the municipal water supply is once again, meeting and exceeding the standards set forth in the sanitary codes of New York State.

Therefore, the boil water notice is lifted and consumers of the Village of New Paltz may again consume/ drink the water.

Additionally the Village Board extends their gratitude to all consumers inconvenienced during this event.

2015-09-11 Water Main Break

As a result of water main breaks on Plattekill Avenue and Lookout Avenue. Water for human consumption must be boiled for a minimum of three minutes to ensure it is safe to drink until further notice.

The affected areas of Plattekill Avenue are from Main Street to Lookout Avenue and from Lookout Avenue to South Oakwood.

The Village of New Paltz Department of Public Works is working diligently to restore safe drinking water .  As soon as satisfactory samples are collected, a lifted boil water notice will be handed out to those businesses/residents affected.

Flood Resiliency on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 7:00 pm

There will be a presentation and community meeting on New Paltz Flood Resiliency on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 7:00 pm at New Paltz Village Hall at 25 Plattekill Avenue. Interested community members are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Village was selected among a handful of communities nationally to receive technical assistance on Flood Resilience for Riverine & Coastal Communities. Project development is being led by a technical consultant to the US Environmental Protection Agency. Also, there will be Flood Resiliency Workshop –  Friday, September 18, 2015 at 9:30 am – 4:00 New Paltz BOCES 175 Rte 32 North (Old Kingston Road) New Paltz. Reservations must be received in advance for attendance at the Friday workshop and seating is limited. New York State residents trash over 1.4 Billion Pounds of clothes and textiles annually, with a market value exceeding $200 million, plus another $36 million in costs to dispose of these recoverable materials. When you donate or recycle clothing, your green efforts help the environment and everyone saves money.

Where? Donate and Recycle your clothing and textiles on SATURDAY, APRIL 25TH FROM 9:00AM-12PM AT THE  TOWN OF NEW PALTZ VILLAGE HALL located at 25 Plattekill Avenue in New Paltz.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Tentative Budget of the Village of New Paltz for the fiscal year beginning June 1, 2014, including General Village Funds and all other funds, has been completed and filed in the office of the Village Clerk of the Village of New Paltz, 25 Plattekill Avenue, New Paltz, New York, where it is available for inspection by any interested person during office hours.

The Board of Trustees of the Village of New Paltz shall hold a Public Hearing on said Tentative Budget on April 8, 2015 at 7:30 PM, at Village Hall, 25 Plattekill Avenue, New Paltz, New York, showing such changes, alterations, and revisions as shall have been made therein by the Board of Trustees of the Village of New Paltz. Volunteers Needed: Landlord-Tenant Relations Council

The Village of New Paltz Landlord-Tenant Relations Council seeks two new volunteers to serve as alternates; one representing Tenant interests (a tenant renting within the Village) and another representing a Neutral party (a Village resident who is neither a landlord nor a tenant).

The purpose of the Landlord-Tenant Relations Council is to advise, counsel, mediate problems and disputes, and to improve relations between landlords and tenants in our community. The LTRC meets once a month; no special background or training is required for this citizen-led Council.

Additionally, new volunteers are always needed to serve on the Village’s various citizen-powered boards and commissions, including the Affordable Housing Board, the Shade Tree Commission, the Historic Preservation Commission, the Planning Board, the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Environmental Policy Board, and the Board of Ethics.

Local Village residents and business owners are invited to attend a workshop, hosted by the Village, to provide input on the future vision for the Neighborhood Business Residential (NBR) zoning district along North Chestnut Street (Rte. 32 N). Comments and suggestions from the public are welcomed and encouraged.

Where: New Paltz Community Center, 3 Veterans Drive (via detour on Bonticou View Dr.)

When: Thursday, April 27th at 7 p.m.
