NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
(Petition for Annexation of property from Town of New Paltz to Village of New Paltz)
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given, that a Petition, dated March 4, 2025, pursuant to Article 17, “Municipal Annexation Law,” of the General Munipal Law of the State of New York, has been received by the Town Board of the Town of New Paltz, Ulster County, New York (Town Board”) and by the Board of Trustees of the incorporated Village of New Paltz (“Village Board”) regarding the lands owned by the persons and/or entities set forth below as follows:

The Petitioners are: Beautiful Monster LLC and Andrew’s Wave LLC, which entities seek to annex the above-described lands from the Town of New Paltz into the Village of New Paltz. NOW, THEREFORE, PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Joint Public Hearing will be held by the Town Board and Village Board on the 5th day of June, 2025, at 7:00 o’clock p.m. at the Town Courthouse, 59 North Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, New York in person and virtually by phone (dial in +1 929 205 6099, Meeting ID: 836 6723 4905, Passcode: 883506) and online

at which time, or as soon thereafter as practicable, all persons interested therein shall be heard. Testimony, evidence and information shall be heard on any of the grounds set forth in subdivision 1 of Section 705 of the General Municipal Law, namely:
a. That a person signing the petition is not qualified therefor; or
b. That the persons signing the petition do not represent the owners of a majority in assessed valuation of the real property in the annexation territory; or
c. That the petition does not otherwise substantially comply in form or content with the provisions of the Annexation Law; or
d. That the annexation proposed is or is not in the overall public interest (1) of the territory proposed to be annexed, or (2) of the local government to which the territory is proposed to be annexed; or (3) of the remaining area of the local government in which such territory is situated, or (4) of any school district, fire district or other district corporation, public benefit corporation, fire protection district, fire alarm district or town or county improvement district, situated wholly or partly in the territory proposed to be annexed.
The hearing may be closed on that date or adjourned to another date, as the Town Board and the Village Board deem appropriate, but must be concluded within ten days after the date fixed for the hearing herein.
