Historic Preservation Commission to Screen New Video and Hear Public Comments 1/22

At its January 22 meeting, the Village of New Paltz Historic Preservation Commission will offer the first public screening of its new 15-minute video “Historic Preservation and the Village of New Paltz.” The video explains the history and principles of architectural preservation and applies them to the local context. It was realized with the help of a state grant from the Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, and it features the opinions and testimonials of elected officials, commission volunteers, and citizens who have worked with the Commission in the past. After the screening, the public is warmly invited to offer their comments, questions, and concerns about the state of architectural preservation, growth, and community planning in the Village.

The video will screen on Monday, January 22 at 8:00 p.m. in the small meeting room at Village Hall, with comments to follow the screening. All are welcome to attend and comment.
