January 17, 2022 – All Village Hall Offices Closed
Village of New Paltz Offices will be closed on: Monday, January 17th, 2022 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022 for regular business hours.
Parking During Snowstorms
ATTENTION VEHICLE OWNERS:
To help get vehicles off Village streets during snowstorms so our Department of Public Works (DPW) may safely clear roadways, free overnight parking is available before storms and for 24 hours after the snow has stopped in the Huguenot Street municipal lot that leads to the Gardens for Nutrition and the Village sewer plant. The lot currently includes 29 spaces that are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Subsequently, the DPW will begin plowing the Huguenot Street lot 24 hours after the snow has stopped and any vehicles still in the lot at that time will risk being ticketed and towed.
Shoveling out one’s vehicle and making sure it is removed from the Huguenot Street lot before DPW plowing commences, regardless of a storm’s size, will be the sole responsibility of vehicle owners and not the Village DPW.
At any time, vehicles that block the thoroughfare on the left (west) side of the Huguenot Street lot heading towards the sewer plant risk being ticketed and towed immediately.

Christmas Tree Pickup Plan 2022
The Village of New Paltz will be mulching Christmas trees this year and offering the mulch to anyone interested in it for gardens or pathways. Residents are encouraged to get their trees out of the house BEFORE they dry out as they pose a high fire risk.
There are two ways you can dispose of your Christmas tree to be mulched:
In the Village, leave it curbside any time before 10:00 AM on Friday, January 14, 2022. If you choose this option, please contact the DPW at 845-255-1980 with the address of where the tree is located. You can drop it off at the Village DPW next to Village Hall, 25 Plattekill Avenue before 10:00 AM on Friday, January 14, 2022. The DPW will collect and chip up trees as long as the weather allows.
Mulch will be made available free of charge to the public after Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Village’s waste water treatment plant located off of Huguenot Street.
Please note: many gardeners recommend aging fresh mulch before applying to plants. Please consult with a garden expert if unsure what’s best for your application.
